DISCOVER THE KEY BENEFITS
What Will You Gain by Implementing Multirobot?
The introduction of agent-based systems into production planning within manufacturing enterprises brings a range of benefits that can significantly enhance the efficiency, flexibility, and innovativeness of production processes.
Here are the key advantages:
1. Flexibility and Adaptability
Agent-based systems are highly flexible, allowing for rapid adjustments to production plans in response to changing conditions such as fluctuations in demand, shifts in raw material availability, or equipment failures. This ensures continuity of production even in unstable environments.
2. Optimization of Production Processes
Agents are capable of analyzing large volumes of data to optimize production processes. This includes inventory management, production scheduling, internal logistics, and resource allocation — all of which contribute to increased efficiency and reduced costs.
3. Decentralization of the Decision-Making Process
In agent-based systems, decisions are made locally by individual agents, reducing the risk of downtime caused by centralized decision-making and enabling more effective responses to local conditions and disruptions.
4. Real-Time Disruption Response
Agent-based systems can dynamically respond to disruptions and failures by quickly adjusting production plans to minimize negative impacts.
5. Collaboration and Coordination
Agents can collaborate by sharing information and coordinating their actions, enabling more efficient management of complex production processes.
6. Integration with Innovative Technologies
Agent-based systems can be easily integrated with other modern technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and machine learning, enabling even greater optimization and automation of processes.
7. Scalability
Agent-based systems are scalable, meaning they can be expanded and adapted to the growing needs of a company without requiring significant changes to the existing infrastructure.
8. Increased Competitive Advantage
The implementation of advanced technologies such as agent-based systems can serve as a source of competitive advantage in the market—particularly in terms of rapid response to changing market demands and the ability to deliver high-quality products.

OPINIONS
Hear from an Expert

Professor, you have often emphasized your preference for describing the transformation of our surrounding reality as a process—a series of interconnected actions. Today, with the growing interest in artificial intelligence, the question arises: can we say that the development of agent-based systems in production management is closely linked to advances in the field of artificial intelligence (AI)?
Yes, AI enables the processing and analysis of large data sets, which is essential for effective production management. Artificial intelligence allows selected decisions to be made automatically in real time, which increases process efficiency and reduces the need for human intervention.
At the same time, the agents that form such systems can communicate and collaborate with one another, and their interactions are often complex and multidimensional. These interactions can result in outcomes such as schedule alignment, resource price negotiation, or determining which resource (represented by local agents) will undertake a specific task. In this context, it’s worth noting that most “AI bots” are focused on communication with human users, rather than with other agents.
Can it then be said that agent-based systems in production management are a more complex and advanced form of artificial intelligence bots?
Yes and no. If AI bots are understood as generative AI agents we can “chat” with about the “feeling of a hammer in one’s hand” and its significance in Heidegger’s philosophy, then no. But if agents are autonomous software units capable of independently making certain decisions and responding to changing conditions in their environment (e.g., during a production process), then absolutely yes. In this context, agents can be equipped with selected machine learning capabilities, allowing them to adapt to evolving needs and optimize production processes.
In other words, appropriately chosen AI technologies enable agent systems to adapt to changing production conditions. Artificial intelligence also supports the optimization of production processes by improving efficiency and reducing waste.
